How face comparison works
We take matching landmarks from both faces, remove differences in position, size and rotation (a technique called Procrustes alignment), and measure how far apart the remaining shapes are. Closer shapes = higher similarity.
What this is and isn't
This compares face shape and proportions, not identity. It's not face recognition and can't tell whether two photos show the same person. It's a fun way to compare family resemblance or see if you and a friend share a face shape.
Your photo stays on your device
